Jim did his first Benefit Auction for an elementary school in his hometown around 1990. The details are somewhat fuzzy at this point, but everyone was happy. He was asked back for the next 10 years.
At the time he was also the full-time host of the 'Miller in the Morning' radio program on 93.5 FM WHMI.
In recent years Jim spent an extended period of time living aboard his previous boat, S/V Jimmie Dreams. He cruised most of The Great Lakes, The North Channel and The Georgian Bay before finishing his time on the water in the Florida Keys and Gulf of Mexico.
When not doing Charity Auctions, Jim still enjoys spending time on/near or around Lake Michigan, reading classic fiction, tinkering with technology, going to Cubs games and volunteering at several local non-profits.
